Neighborhood Watch

We are very lucky here, crime is low because we pay attention to our community! Month after month, the police report we have no issues, and NO news is GOOD news!
We actually had 3 reports of possible vandalism early in May. It was determined that one was a pre-existing issue and one was just a window left open in error. The third was a rock through a window of a vacant home. So, no, we do not have a serious vandalism issue here in Discovery Harbour. With the lousy economy however, there are more vacant homes, so please keep your eyes out for unusual behavior, especially around those empty places! Don’t try to interrupt…..call 911!
There have been reports of illegal trash dumping at a few locations….especially on empty cul-de-sacs, please, if you witness this….call the police. The stench of a rotting pig carcass is something none of us should have to bear.
As summer is upon us, we are in even more need of volunteers, especially as substitutes for vacationing watchers. This might be only a couple of shifts, and we’d really like to have a few regular subs available! Our thanks to Noel Eberz for always answering the call when needed!
Finally, our Neighborhood Watch meeting is held in the community center at 5 pm on the third Monday, every month. Representatives of the police department are there and available to answer any questions you may have about keeping Discovery Harbour a safer place to live. You do not have to be a member of the Neighborhood Watch to attend the meeting!! Please, feel free to stop by.
